Cherry Blossom

Cherry Blossom ~ 6th April 2013

For the ‘Delicate’ contest held by #PortraitClub on the Traditional/Digital Work category,
in which I got the second place!

It’s a simple self-portrait, so there’s not much to say about it.

I don’t particularly like how the background and jacket are painted,
but at least I’ve gotten better at painting portraits!

I hope you’ve liked it.
Have a very wonderful day!

Sir Mordred

Sir Mordred ~ 17th March 2013
(Full view)

Mordred is a character who appears very early in the Arthurian literature.
He is known for fighting against Arthur in the Battle of Camlann, where he was killed.
In many versions of the tale he’s depicted as Arthurs illegitimate son (son of Arthur with his half-sister, Morgause)

The sword is supposed to be Clarent. In the Alliterative Morte Arthure it was stolen and then used to kill Arthur by Mordred.

Mordred is one of my favorite characters, so it’s been extremely fun to paint him and all those little details and symbols on his armor.

Arthurian legend? One can never get tired of it! 8D

Have a very nice day.

I seek the Holy Grail!

I seek the Holy Grail ~ 27th March 2013
(Full view)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is possibly one of the most-epic-movies-ever.
I’ve watched it a thoooousand times! And Graham Chapman was a great King Arthur!

Since I’m painting scenes and characters of the Arthurian legend for practice…
WHY NOT PAINT A MEMBER OF MONTY PYTHON?
AM I SUGGESTING COCONUTS MIGRATE?!
A SWALLOW CARRYING A COCONUT!?
But a five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut!
In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
AM I RIGHT!?
